Moja Expressway has been forced to temporarily close a section of the Nairobi Expressway along Mombasa Road to motorists following damages caused by protesters on Wednesday.
The protesters were said to be part of those taking part in the ongoing demos across the country convened by Azimio la Umoja leader Raila Odinga against the high cost of living.
Moja Expressway, in a statement released on its social media pages on Wednesday, indicated that it had halted toll services at its Syokimau, Mlolongo and SGR stations.
“We regret to inform you that a section of the Nairobi Expressway toll services have been temporarily halted at Mlolongo, Syokimau and SGR Toll Stations due to the ongoing demonstrations,” said Moja Expressway, the company running the Nairobi Expressway.
The company has advised motorists using the expressway to head to Mlolongo to exit at JKIA and those who are Westlands-bound to join the upper road at the JKIA Toll Station.
