The Moja Expressway Company, responsible for the management of the Nairobi Expressway, has announced a temporary closure of the major road in the heart of the city.

The closure will be in effect from Saturday, 1st July 2023 at 10 pm until Sunday, 2nd July 2023 at 4 pm.

The decision has been made to facilitate the successful hosting of the 2nd edition of the Nairobi City Marathon.

In an official statement, the Moja Expressway Company stated, "Please note that the Nairobi Expressway will be temporarily closed as we host the 2nd edition of the Nairobi City Marathon."

With the temporary closure of the Nairobi Expressway, the organizers aim to ensure the safety and smooth flow of the marathon route.

"We kindly request all motorists and commuters to plan their journeys accordingly," the Moja Expressway Company added in their statement.
