Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) headquarters successfully intercepted and impounded a motor vehicle believed to have been used in a series of housebreaking incidents in the Syokimau area.

Following a mid-Friday morning car chase with suspected thieves in Kasarani, the authorities were able to apprehend the vehicle and recover a substantial amount of stolen property.

The interception of the vehicle came as a result of numerous complaints lodged by victims who fell prey to the audacious burglaries, most of which took place during broad daylight.

The circulation of CCTV footage on various social media platforms revealed the detained vehicle, a white Toyota Vanguard bearing falsified registration numbers, being used by the suspected criminals.

In a meticulously planned sting operation, a team of detectives from the DCI's Crime Research & Intelligence Bureau managed to locate the suspects in the Roasters area in Kasarani.

However, when the officers ordered the occupants to stop, they brazenly defied the instructions and accelerated towards Baba Dogo.

Undeterred, the police initiated a high-speed pursuit in an attempt to apprehend the culprits.

Upon realizing their imminent capture the suspects resorted to desperate measures and ultimately abandoned the vehicle at Ngei Estate and fled on foot, leaving behind the car registered under the number plate KCX 030P.

It was later discovered that the registration number had been tampered with and altered to KCJ 530C, a common tactic employed by the thieves during their criminal operations.

A thorough search of the abandoned vehicle uncovered a significant haul of stolen items, including five television sets (three Samsung, one Vitron, and one Amtec), a PlayStation 5 gaming console, a Lenovo laptop, crowbars, metal hooks, a collection of keys, and multiple counterfeit number plate stickers.

Proper documentation of the recovered items has been meticulously undertaken, ensuring that they will serve as crucial evidence in the ongoing investigation.

The authorities are currently intensifying their efforts to track down the suspects who managed to escape on foot, as well as any potential accomplices involved in these brazen house breakings.

The interception and subsequent recovery of stolen property by the DCI demonstrates the commitment of law enforcement agencies to ensuring the safety and security of citizens.

As investigations progress, it is hoped that these recent developments will lead to the arrest and prosecution of the individuals responsible for the spate of housebreaking, providing justice to the victims and deterring potential criminals in the future.
