Investments, Trade and Industry CS Moses Kuria has rewarded Faith Mwaura, his former running mate in the 2022 Kiambu County Governor race, with a key state appointment.

Kuria has appointed Faith to be a member of the Board of Directors of the Kenya Development Corporation (KDC) through a gazette notice dated June 15, 2023.

The politician, according to the gazette notice, will serve in the KDC board for three years.

“In exercise of the power conferred by section 6 (1) le) of the State Corporations Act, as read together with section 51 of the Interpretations and General Provisions Act. the Cabinet Secretary for Investments. Trade and Industry appoints Faith Mwaura to be a member of the Board of Directors of the Kenya Development Corporation. for a period of three (3) years with effect from the 16th June, 2023,” read the gazette notice.

She was appointed to replace Mboche Waithaka, whose appointment was revoked.


Kenya Development Corporation was established in 2020 to merge the operations of Industrial and Commercial Development Corporation, Tourism Finance Corporation and IDB Capital Limited.

Its main obligation is to promote sustainable socio-economic development by providing development finance, infrastructure finance, business support and advisory services to medium and large-scale industries, infrastructure projects and commercial undertakings in target sectors in Kenya and elsewhere.

The Kuria-Faith ticket lost in the Kiambu gubernatorial race on a Chama Cha Kazi (CCK) ticket to UDA’s Kimani Wamatangi before President William Ruto picked Kuria for the CS position.
