The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM)Party has taken a firm stance against its members who went against the party's position during Thursday's crucial vote on the Finance Bill, 2023.
The party announced this development in a statement its Secretary General Edwin Sifuna issued on Thursday.
ODM has found itself inundated with complaints from its general membership following the conduct of certain National Assembly members during the recent vote on the Finance Bill, 2023.
"The Party is in receipt of many complaints from its general membership regarding the conduct of its members of National Assembly during yesterday's vote on the Finance Bill, 2023," the statement read.

Consequently, the party has taken decisive action by initiating disciplinary proceedings against the following members who defied the party's position and voted for the contentious Bill:

2. Hon. Aden Adow Mohamed, MP, Wajir South Constituency
3. Hon. Elisha Ochieng Odhiambo, MP, Gem Constituency
4. Hon. Caroli Omondi, MP, Suba South Constituency
Those who were absent during the voting:

Adhering to the Party's disciplinary rules, the aforementioned members have been served with notices to show cause, requiring them to present justifications within the next 48 hours, as to why disciplinary action should not be taken against them.
"In line with the Party's disciplinary rules, notices to show cause why disciplinary action should not be taken have been issued to the said members. They are expected to respond within the next 48 hours," ODM said.
As the deadline for the members' responses approaches, the Party eagerly awaits their explanations before making a final decision on disciplinary action. It remains to be seen how this development will impact the party's internal dynamics
