Jubilee Party led by former President Uhuru Kenyatta has expelled the rebel wing led by EALA MP Kanini Kega and Nominated MP Sabina Chege as it reconstituted its National Executive Council (NEC) board.
The changes were announced during the party’s National Delegates Conference (NDC) held at Ngong Racecourse in Nairobi County on Monday and chaired by party Leader Uhuru.
According to Jubilee Party Secretary General Jeremiah Kioni, the changes were necessitated by the disloyalty shown openly by the rebelling splinter group led by Kega and Chege.

He blamed the said splinter group that openly supports President William Ruto’s ruling UDA party of skipping a National Executive Council (NEC) meeting convened on April 28, 2023.
Kioni indicated the during the NEC meeting it was decided that the party replaces all the board members who are not loyal, trustworthy and faithful and trustworthy members.
“They are holding the positions and they have shown that their loyalty is not with us but with others,” said Kioni during the NDC.
Among the Jubilee Party NEC members who have been replaced include Kanini Kega, Sabina Chege, Naomi Shaban, Jimmy Angwenyi, Joshua Kuttuny, Nelson Nzuya, Mutava Musymi,
Rachel Nyamai, Joel Kibe, Wangoi Gichuru and Advice Mundalo.
Among those who have replaced them include digital strategist Pauline Njoroge (Deputy Organising Secretary), Jamleck Kamau (Director of Elections), Maoka Maore (Deputy Party Leader Operations), Beatrice Gabo (Deputy Party Leader Strategy) and David Manje (Deputy Party Leader Operations).
"This is our party; it is our political home. We will guard it with all our strength and history will be kind to us, because we are standing on the side of democracy," Pauline Njoroge told Swala Nyeti.
Others are Maison Leshoomo (National Women’s League Chairperson), Kados Muiruri (Deputy Party Leader Outreach), Saitoti Torome (Chairman), Yasin Noor (Deputy Secretary General), Agnes Thumbi (National Youth League Leader) and Nderitu Mureithi (Business Council Leader).
Kioni said the former ruling party had deregistered all members who had been championing interests of other parties and that it will remain in Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition Party.
On his part, Uhuru said he had been prepared to retired from politics after handing over power to Ruto in 2022 but intimidation by a section of leaders has forced him to stay on.
“I wanted to shelve politics, but there are others who have decided that their work is to force and intimidate. Today, I want to tell you that you can't do that to Uhuru Kenyatta,” he vowed.
Uhuru added, "We handed over power in peace, publicly and in broad daylight. I stayed quiet even when they insulted me, stole my goats and set my farm on fire, all while thinking I was being threatened."
The Jubilee Party NDC convened by Uhuru was also attended by fellow Azimio la Umoja party members including Raila Odinga of ODM, Martha Karua of Narc Kenya and Eugene Wamalwa of DAP-Kenya.
