Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has outlined the Kenya Kwanza administration's ambitious plan to establish the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) as the nation's premier political party, destined to govern for the next century.

Speaking to UDA grassroots coordinators in Nairobi on Thursday, Mr Gachagua expressed his intention to expand the party's influence by recruiting members from the strongholds of Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Coalition leader Raila Odinga.

"We have moved across the country and you have seen that our party is now in every corner of the country. Our plans are bigger and we will expand the party to reach Nyanza region and other areas," Gachagua said.

"This is a massive party that will rule for 100 years."

Additionally, Gachagua criticized Raila and categorically dismissed the possibility of a handshake, affirming that the opposition will be afforded its rightful role in governance.

Gachagua also addressed the concept of "shares" in relation to governance.

He asserted that President William Ruto would not select individuals who did not back his candidacy for appointment.

Instead, only those who supported him would be appointed due to their comprehensive comprehension of his vision.

"When we talk about shares, we mean governance. President William Ruto will not appoint those who did not support his candidature. He will only appoint those who supported him because they have a clear understanding of the vision he has," Gachagua said.

"They understand the bottom-up economic model better than those who did not support him.".

During the gathering, Gachagua warmly welcomed former Migori Governor Okoth Obado into the UDA party.

Obado pledged to spearhead the party's recruitment efforts in the Nyanza region.
