Kenya Power and Lighting Company has come out to explain the reasons for a power outage that had been reported in various parts of the country.
Kenya Power says the major outage of electricity in Nairobi, North Rift and Western Kenya was caused by a "system disturbance affecting one of our major power transmission lines."
The power distributor has sought to assure Kenyans that its engineers were working overtime to restore power to the affected areas.
This comes after many Kenyans took to social complaining that they were experiencing power outages in different parts of the country from around 7pm.
