Detectives from the DCI Anti-Terrorism Police Unit's Emergency Response team have completed a demanding and advanced combat riding course, held at Kedong training camp in Naivasha, Nakuru County.

The course, which was organized by the DCI's partners, including the US Embassy's office of Anti-Terrorism Assistance and TripleTap Academy, Kibo and BMW Mistorrad, was designed to enhance the team's capacity to respond promptly to emergent and high-risk incidents requiring specialized skills and tactics.

The specialized training covered a range of skills, including obstacle crossing, speedy maneuvers with an armed pillion passenger, and target shooting while in motion.

The course aimed to provide the Emergency Response Team with the immediate response capability needed to manage incidents expeditiously, particularly in response to terror threats.

Mike Solis, the Anti-Terrorism Assistance Regional Programs Manager, praised the team's successful completion of the course, noting that they were now better equipped to manage incidents and respond to the ever-changing security situations.

He emphasized that the specialized training would enhance the Emergency Response Team's capacity to respond to priority operations.

The course was facilitated by Triple Tap Academy Instructor Sammy Onyango, a highly experienced shooting coach who provided world-class training to the team, exposing them to different scenarios that would be beneficial in responding to emergencies.

Onyango emphasized that the team would continue to receive similar training to ensure that they operated professionally, efficiently, safely, and effectively, guaranteeing public safety and security.

The Emergency Response Team is a highly skilled tactical unit in counter-terrorism, hostage rescue, and close-quarter combat operations, and has received training both locally and internationally.

The team's successful completion of the advanced combat riding course is a testament to their unwavering commitment to protecting the public from security threats.
