Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition's nationwide anti-government demonstrations will resume after the holy month of Ramadhan.

This is according to the coalition’s leader Raila Odinga who said the protests will run alongside the much anticipated bipartisan process between Azimio and the government.

“The talks should run concurrently with the demonstrations. We are waiting for Ramadhan to be over. Fire is fought with fire,” Raila said.

Raila was addressing Azimio’s first town hall meeting at Ufungamano in Nairobi where he said the two will run concurrently because Kenya Kwanza administration exhibited a change of heart.

The meeting was attended by multi-sectoral leaders including human rights activists, faith-based organisations, students’ leadership, trade unions, farmers' associations, small businesses, and other civil society organisations.

He accused the Kenya Kwanza faction of forcing an agenda to be discussed during the bipartisan process as they insisted that they will only engage Azimio in reconstitution of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) and nothing else.

Raila added that he will announce the date when the demonstrations will resume in the near future.
