ODM leader Raila Odinga on Monday subjected Migori Governor Okoth Obado and his Siaya counterpart Cornel Rasanga to shame publicly after blocking them from sitting at the podium with panelists at the ODM meeting at Ciala Resort.

Raila barred Obado who had intended to seat with fellow governors and other leaders on the panel on entering the venue late and  forced the Migori County boss to go and sit down with other regular delegates in the crowds.

Obado and Rasanga arrived at the crucial ODM meeting on the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) late as Odinga was delivering his keynote address and went straight to the podium to join other governors.

An irked Odinga stopped the Migori boss telling him, “Go and sit down there. You come late then disturb people here!” while pointing at where other leaders and delegates present at the meeting were seated, attracting laughter and murmers from those present.

On noticing a section of the crowd was not amused, he tried to explain the incident away saying that there were sitting protocols that had been arranged for the event that Obado and Rasanga, who had arrived late, were disrupting.

The former Prime Minister was at the podium with Nyanza ODM leaders Kisumu Governor Anyang' Nyong'o, Homa Bay Governor Cyprian Awiti, Siaya Senator James Orengo and Homa Bay Woman MP Gladys Wanga.

Migori County Assembly Speaker Boaz Okoth was also heckled by a section of delegates at the meeting convened by Odinga to rally support for BBI within his ODM party in his Nyanza base.

In his speech, Odinga urged Nyanza region to support the BBI constitutional change initiative at the meeting attended by Nyanza ODM governors, MPs, Senators, Woman Reps and MCAs.
