Renowned public service vehicle company Easy Coach has issued a statement updating the public on the accident that involved one of their buses along the Nairobi-Nakuru highway.

The accident occurred at around 9:30 p.m. at Gilgil, less than a kilometre from the weighbridge, when a truck that was headed in the opposite direction rammed into the Malaba-bound bus.


According to Easy Coach, the truck was trying to overlap when the accident occurred.

“Last night at around 9.30pm, our bus heading to Malaba was involved in an accident a kilometer to the Gilgil weighbridge with a truck heading opposite direction which was trying to overlap,” Easy Coach said.

Easy Coach disclosed that only one passenger was still receiving treatment at a Naivasha hospital, while the other passengers who sustained minor injuries continued with their journey.


“One passenger is admitted at a Naivasha hospital. The remaining passengers some with minor injuries proceeded with their journey using our Nakuru rescue bus,” the statement read.

The bus company also wished for a quick recovery for the injured passengers.
