Police have arrested a man suspected to have caused the death of his neighbour who came to his home supposedly intending to have a good time with his wife in Kapkatet, Kericho County.

Unbeknownst to the neighbour, the man, who is believed to be working far away, had come back home and apparently the wife did not update her alleged lover on the latest happenings.

According to the police report, the neighbour went to the man’s house in the wee hours of Thursday and called out his supposedly married lover’s name through the window.

The husband could not believe his ears when he heard someone calling his wife and referring to her by sweet names.

The man got up and sat on the bed when the daring "Romeo" graduated from calling on his wife and started knocking on the wooden window.

The persistent knocks on his window confirmed the man’s suspicion and stirred his anger, sending him bolting out of the door and pouncing on his neighbour, who had dared to fish from his pond.

He unleashed a barrage of heavy blows and kicks on his neighbour with the commotion attracting the attention of neighbours.

It took the village Assistant Chief and Nyumba Kumi elders to quell the man’s anger and return things to normal.

Taking advantage of the ensuing commotion, the man's wife escaped from her matrimonial home with her dear life.

The villagers rushed the wounded neighbour to the Kapkatet Hospital but he succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment.

Police later visited the scene, arrested the irked man and took him to Abossi Police Station in Kericho where he was processed before being arraigned.
