President William Ruto led the nation in celebrating the 59th Jamhuri Day in a ceremony that was held on Monday at the Nyayo Stadium.

This year’s Jamhuri Day was the first national day celebration dedicated to a theme that is relevant to our national aspirations-Tech and Innovation.


The theme of this year’s Jamhuri Day whose theme is Connect, Innovate and Inspire.

Kenyans from all parts of the country and other distinguished guests attended the colourful ceremony.


Ruto hosted tech experts from across the world to attend the Jamhuri Day celebrations.

During the celebrations, Ruto fulfilled his pledge to give an incentive to attendees.

He asked all the attendees to scan a QR code that automatically enrolled them for tech scholarships.


The celebrations started at about 10am after the president arrived at the stadium, which was earlier than previous public events.

The Commender-in-Chief of the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) presided over his first trooping of colour ceremony for the 23 Mechanised Infantry Battalion since he became president.


Various artists from the country entertained guests with a series of electrifying performances.
