The Education CS George Magoha has announced the dates when the National Examinations will begin.

Magoha was speaking at Kerugoya Catholic Church grounds in Kirinyaga County on Monday during the post world Teacher Day Celebrations.

He said the exams will begin on November 28, 2022, and assured the candidates that they will take their exams on time.

The CS also said that the marking of the exams will be completed in December and the results will be released by January 23, 2023.

Magoha appealed to teachers who will mark the exams to cooperate and promised that they will be paid once the exercise is complete well.

CS has advised teachers across the country to work in resilience & provide opportunities for learners to achieve their goals and not to put money first.

On the contentious Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC), Magoha said the Government has already invested heavily in the system.

According to Magoha, 10,000 CBC classrooms have already been built nationally, although the contractors have not yet been paid.

The CS said the money for the construction was factored into the budget.

He urged the Government to release the funds to enable payment of the contractors who had completed their work.

Magoha also thanked President William Ruto for setting up a task force that will review the CBC education system.

In his speech, Magoha requested the public and teachers to allow the new government to settle and work on their agendas.

The CS also urged the new administration to continue with educational programs, including Elimu Scholarship and embrace CBC.
