A 24-year-old woman is recuperating at a Nairobi hospital after she was reportedly stabbed five times and seriously injured by her boyfriend in a jealous fit of rage inside a lift after they broke up.

The intern named Allan Musili, said to be an employee of the Kenya Copyright Board, is reported to have pounced on the woman while inside a lift at NHIF Building in Upper Hill area.

Officials from the building are reported to have picked bloodied Musili and his bleeding girlfriend, Alsheba Nduta, from the NHIF Building lift and rushed both of them to hospital.

According to a police report, Nduta sustained deep stab injuries on her back while her boyfriend Musili sustained injuries in his stomach and neck following the ugly incident.

Eyewitnesses say Nduta came to Musili’s Kenya Copyright Board office on the 5th floor of NHIF Building to return a laptop following the termination of their romantic relationship.

However, Musili followed her to the lift and pounced on her with a knife stabbing her five times in the back before turning it on himself and launching it on his stomach and neck.

Police have launched an investigation into the incident that left many occupants of the busy building talking in shock as it remains unclear the reasons behind their bitter fallout.

The two former lovers remain hospitalized in Nairobi in critical condition.
