Former Chief Justice David Maraga has denounced any links to a tweet that has since gone viral across social media purporting to endorse President-elect William Ruto’s win in the August presidential election.
Maraga took to his social media accounts to dismiss the tweet as fake and ask the public to ignore it.
"This tweet circulating on social media purporting to be authored by me is FAKE, please ignore," Maraga said.
The former CJ also shared a screenshot of the tweet, revealing the handle of an individual identified as @Keerulanah.

According to the fake Maraga tweet, he claimed Ruto won the election fairly and squarely and alleged President Uhuru Kenyatta was pressuring the Supreme Court.
“Dr.William Samoei Ruto won fairly and squarely on the just concluded Presidential Elections and he should be sworn in on 30th of August. I don’t know why the outgoing President Uhuru Kenyatta is still pressurizing the Supreme Court.-Former CJ David Maraga,” the fake tweet read.
During the electioneering period, I have witnessed the circulation of such tweets across social media.
