A Kenyan woman living and working in Canada drowned on Friday while on Facebook live stream, in a bizarre incident that has left many in shock in Kenya and abroad.

The visibly excited woman who goes by the name Hellen Wendy was swimming while livestreaming and chatting with her Facebook friends when the tragic accident happened.

Wendy, who is said to be a Kenyan nurse who relocated to Canada, was engaging her online friends following her livestream as she  enjoyed her afternoon swim after work.

Trouble started around 11 minutes into the video when she went to the deep end of the swimming pool, which was far away from her recording device, and then started struggling while screaming frantically for help.

Poor Wendy continued kicking and calling out for help for the next minute as she drifted towards a side not in view of the recording device.

From the bizarre video recording, she struggled until the sounds of her voice calling for help and the splashing sounds faded and the water went still.

Her lifeless body was discovered by two caucasians who had come to swim in the pool three hours later as the device continued recording.

According to her Facebook profile, Wendy was a medical practitioner, an oncology nurse, living in Toronto, Ontario in Canada and it remains unclear when she relocated from Kenya.
