The Kenya Kwanza Alliance presidential candidate William Ruto has appealed to Christians to lead from the front by turning up and voting in the Tuesday general election.


Ruto was speaking during an interdenominational prayer session at his Karen office in Nairobi.

The Deputy President noted most Kenyans, including Christians complain about poor leaders and apportioned blame to those people who do not vote especially when poor leaders occupy elective positions as they make it easy for such leaders.

He said the 2022 election is more of a spiritual battle than a normal political contest, pitching believers against non-believers.

"This election is more of a spiritual battle than a political contest and that is why we have all the manner of things that are going on today," Ruto said.


The Deputy President also appealed to Kenyans to remain calm and maintain peace during the electioneering period and after the polls regardless of the outcome of the election.

"I want to urge Kenyans from all political divides. Please be peaceful so that we can work together as one united nation," the DP said.
