A melee between the Nairobi senatorial candidate Edwin Sifuna and Kileleshwa ward seat aspirant Robert Alai made the Azimio la Umoja One Kenya coalition presidential flag bearer Raila Odinga cross.

Apparently, the two bickered over a chance to address members of the public at an Azimio rally in Kawangware on Saturday.

The incident forced Raila to intervene and order Sifuna and Alai to stop the feuding and interrupting his political event.

“Alai, Alai. What is happening!” he probed.

The rally was stopped momentarily but resumed later after the tempers dissipated.

Raila urged residents of Kawangware to vote for the Azimio-OKA coalition in the August election, saying it is the only faction that can revive the ailing economy.

The former premier also appealed to the women to support his running mate Martha Karua.

He also asked the residents of Kawangware to vote for ODM candidates because he needed a substantial number of legislators to avoid impeachment by the opposition.

"Don't vote for me and leave me isolated in Parliament. I do not want to be a captive president. My opponents will intimidate me with impeachment every day. I want you to give me MPs and MCAs," Raila said.
