Deputy President William Ruto has vowed that he will form a judicial body to probe actions and policies of his boss, President Uhuru Kenyatta, if he wins the August 9 General Election.

Ruto has also vowed to reverse numerous policies initiated by Uhuru in the government the DP still serves in if elected, adding that he will not fear to go after the President when he exits.

In the Kenya Kwanza manifesto Ruto launched on Thursday, he said his government would establish an inquiry into allegations of state capture targeting Uhuru and his administration.

In total, Ruto has undertaken to establish eight tribunals, taskforces and review panels to reverse all the policies President Kenyatta initiated while he served as the Deputy President.

He pledged to establish a quasi-judicial public inquiry to establish the extent of cronyism and state capture in Kenya and make recommendations within 30 days of assuming office.

Ruto has served as the Deputy President to Uhuru since 2013 and has fought off all calls to resign if he has lost trust in his boss, instead opting to harshly criticize him while in office.

However, Uhuru’s allies and leaders in Azimio La Umoja One Kenya alliance have accused Ruto of formulating proposals that could plunge Kenya into chaos in a revenge mission.

Jubilee Party secretary general Jeremiah Kioni has described the proposal by Ruto and Kenya Kwanza as “a clear statement of intention to overthrow the current Constitution.”

“This is already a clear indication of how dangerous a Ruto government could be for this country. They are on a vindictive agenda. Since they have been talking about witch-hunt that is now a clear case of witch-hunt that has been provided for in the manifesto,” Kioni said.

He added, “We want people who have stolen public funds to be dealt with. But we do not want to start creating other institutions that may be targeting specific people.”
