Two women have been arraigned and charged in a Nairobi court with assaulting another woman allegedly for supporting two Nairobi aspirants in the August election.

The duo namely Anne Kimani and Eunice Mwangi, appeared in court on Friday before magistrate Muthoni Nzibe.

Court documents say Anne and Njeri assaulted one Susan Wairimu Chidawa on April 16, 20220 at around 6 pm along River Road in Nairobi, and caused her bodily harm.

According to the victim, the accused persons confronted her and asked her why she was supporting the two politicians before descending on her with blows.

However, Anne and Eunice denied the charges and were released on a Sh10,000 cash bail.

The government had earlier warned against such acts of political intolerance and threatened dire consequences.
