Reuben Kigame has unveiled Irene Ngendo Kamau as his running mate ahead of the August general election.

Kigame made the announcement on Tuesday shortly after Safina party's Jimi Wanjigi unveiled his running mate, making him the sixth presidential candidate to name a running mate.

"It’s my distinguished honour to introduce to you my running mate Irene Ngendo Kamau," Kigame said.

“Irene and I believe in the citizens of this country. We believe Kenyans deserve more than what we’ve been getting."

While accepting her nomination for the position, Kamau said she will diligently serve Kigame, his government and the people of Kenya and hold herself accountable to the people.

“I will serve my president Reuben Kigame and the government he leads, and the wonderful people of Kenya, serve diligently and hold myself accountable to the people,” Kamau said.
