A bar manager is recovering at a hospital in Migori town after he was assaulted and seriously injured by three irate revelers in fight over beautiful waitress on Thursday night.
Oscar Omondi, who manages the Azimio Bar in Karangi, Migori County, was waylaid by the three men armed with machetes after he barred them from leaving with the new waitress.
They pounced on Omondi as he was closing the bar after blocking them from leaving with the woman in what was a bid to tame the high turnover of waitresses at the establishment.
Omondi, who lamented at how many of his past beautiful waitresses had "eloped" with patrons, later realized the trio was armed with machetes, knives and other crude weapons.

Police established that the three men had been drinking at the bar for hours on Thursday evening and were especially dazed by the 22-year-old waitress who was serving revellers.
On finishing their drinks, the men stayed on up to the closing time with their eyes still fixated on the woman while the manager, who had taken not of their intentions, took note.
At around midnight, on realizing Omondi was hell-bent on thwarting their plans, they pounced on him before breaking into the counter and stealing all the day’s earnings.
Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations based in Migori County have launched a manhunt for the three suspects, who are reportedly well known by residents.
