“Our local police are handling the matter. We shall therefore share the outcome of their findings in due course,” NPS said.

NPS termed the acts of victimising the elderly woman and her son as cruel, unjustified, and unlawful.

The police condemned the act and advised that there were legally laid down procedures for settling conflicts between people.

“NPS joins outraged Kenyans in condemning the uncalled brutality against the two,” NPS said.

According to the video that Swala Nyeti has seen, the lady was being flogged for defending her son,  Alfred who has allegedly committed an offence.

However, one member of the public claimed the lady wanted to strip naked as a sign of protest, which is considered taboo in many cultures.

The woman only identified as Mama Kwamboka can be heard saying she was not stripping and the cloth the other person claimed was an underwear was a t-shirt.
