Popular comedian and MC Jasper Muthomi, known as MC Jessy has dropped out of the Imenti South parliamentary race.
MC Jesse had shelved his bid for the seat in favour of Mwiti Kathaara.
According to a tweet by the UDA party leader, Deputy President William Ruto, MC Jesse will henceforth join his presidential campaign team.

MC Jesse joined the UDA party in January this year, hoping to become a legislator after receiving the blessings of Meru elders known as the Njuri Ncheke in November 2021.
Jesse is among local celebrities who have switched careers from comedy and music to politics.
