Police have rescued a Nandi County man accused of killing his family from the wrath of an irate mob who was baying for his blood.

The irate mob wanted to lynch the man for killing his wife and three children allegedly over a family dispute in Kamulat Village in Kipkaren.

The are Chief Gilbert Chepkwony said the suspect identified as Philip Lokorwen arrived home on Wednesday night and attacked his wife Risper Chelimo over claims of infidelity.

According to the chief, the couple’s children tried to intervene but took their mother’s side of the fight and that angered their father who took a kitchen knife and stabbed them.

The children were aged between 7 and 11 years old.

Currently, Chepkwony is receiving treatment at Kapsabet County Referral Hospital nursing wounds he sustained from the mob.
