Detectives have arrested a boda boda operator who abducted his passenger, a foreign national and then raped her before abandoning her in a forest.
The detectives nabbed Protas Onsongo on Saturday afternoon while attempting to flee the city to evade arrest following his beastly act.
According to a police report filed at the Ongata Rongai police station on Saturday morning, the young lady hailed Protas’ boda boda from the 1824 club along Langata Road where she had been revelling with two of her friends also of foreign nationalities.
The three foreign nationals each hailed boda boda to drop them at a hotel they had made reservations in Nairobi’s Central Business District.
Protas left 1824 parking lot last onto Langata Road towards the CBD before suddenly changing course and speeding off towards Bomas of Kenya.

Unfamiliar vegetation along the road Protas took towards Ongata Rongai made the young woman realise all was not well before she tried to raise an alarm but, unfortunately, no help was in sight.
Protas is then reported to have proceeded towards Oloolua forest where he went and raped the victim before marooning her in the forest.
Wellwishers who later found her took her to the police station where she recorded a statement over the unfortunate and traumatising incident.
A team of detectives drawn from the Crime Research and Intelligence Bureau (CRIB), the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) and police from Ongata Rongai launched a serious manhunt for the suspect.
The operation also involving the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) saw the suspect get intercepted in Ngong at around 3pm as he was attempting to flee the city.
Once he was arrested, Protas took the detectives to the scene of crime where they gathered more crucial evidence related to the incident.
Forensic experts also extracted DNA samples from Protas to build a watertight case against him in court.
The victim was later taken to a hospital in Ongata Rongai where she underwent the required tests and medical procedures to assist with the case and to secure her health.
The detectives also sought to establish whether the particular boda boda operator had complied with the ongoing registration requirements by the government.
