Deputy President William Ruto has emerged victorious in the just concluded UDA presidential aspirant interviews.
Ruto beat JKUAT student Tracy Wanjiru and Jephania Orina after scoring higher in the eligibility test conducted on Saturday at the Hustler Plaza by the UDA National Executive Committee (NEC).
The Deputy Chairperson UDA Kipruto Arap Kirwa said the DP was the one candidate who reached the eligibility threshold and will be presented to the party's NDC on Tuesday.
"We have come to our end of nominations exercise to get UDA presidential candidate, we have only one individual DP William Ruto who the NEC board will present to NDC on Tuesday," Kirwa said.
Kirwa explained Wanjiru and Orina did not meet the criteria for the verification process and interview.

According to Kirwa, Wanjiru did not meet the criteria because she had not yet finished school.
"Looking at the young lady she is yet to finish school, Tracy did not qualify because she doesn't have a degree," Kirwa said.
As for Orina, Kirwa said he did not qualify to proceed beyond today because he fell short of the Sh1 million nomination fee for presidential candidates.
"Orina will not be able to proceed beyond today because he fails to meet the requirements as he couldn't raise the required fee of Ksh. 1 million," Kirwa said.
The next step for UDA is to endorse Ruto as the party's presidential candidate during the NDC scheduled for Tuesday.
