Police in Ruiru have launched a manhunt for a man who stabbed his employer on Thursday evening before vanishing with an unknown amount of his employer’s money.

According to the police report, the man identified as Benjamin Munene Ndiang’ui drove his employer Jane Muraguri of Kenya Tea Development Agency, Nairobi, to a secluded spot at Clay Works along Thika Superhighway before stabbing her multiple times on her face.

Ndiang’ui then went ahead and transferred an unspecified amount of money from Muraguri’s MPESA account and fled the scene on foot.

A guard from MB Security company rescued Muraguri and rushed her to Kenyatta University Hospital where she was admitted in critical condition.

The victim sustained serious injuries to her right eye, nostrils and mouth.

Police recovered a blood-stained kitchen knife believed to have been Ndiang’ui’s weapon of choice for his heinous act.
