President William Ruto has assented to the Supplementary Appropriation Bill (National Assembly Bill No. 4 of 2023).

President Ruto assented to the bill that will see County Governments settle eligible pending bills on Monday as State House, Nairobi.

The president said the government has provided over Sh60 billion for the Supplementary Appropriation Bill to ensure uninterrupted delivery of services to Kenyans.

“The settling of eligible pending bills remains urgent and sticky issue, especially among county governments, that is affecting many suppliers,” Ruto said.

“We have provided more than Sh60 Billion in the Supplementary Appropriation Bill (National Assembly Bill No. 4 of 2023) that will ensure uninterrupted delivery of services to the people.”

Attorney General Justin Muturi, Speaker of the National Assembly Moses Wetang’ula, National Assembly Majority Leader Kimani Ichungw’ah and Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro who is also the Chairperson of the Budget and Appropriations Committee, were present at State House during the ceremony.

Many suppliers have suffered after their county governments failed to settle pending bills from the previous administration.

Others have sunk into debt and depression because of the same.
