The Public Service Commission (PSC) has published the names of shortlisted candidates for the position of the chairperson, Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission.

The commission published the names of the fourteen shortlisted candidates out of the eighty-nine (89) applicants on Tuesday morning.

Names of notable Kenyans have appeared on the list of persons expected to head the anti-corruption body.

Among the notable persons who have been shortlisted for the position include the former Makueni Governor Kivutha Kibwana, former presiding Bishop of Christ is the Answer Ministries (CITAM) David Oginde and Senior Counsel Charles Kanjama and former commissioner at the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) Thomas Letangule.

“Pursuant to Sections 10 (1) of the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (Amendment) Act, 2011 (Amended 2015), the Public Service Commission invited applications from suitably qualified Kenyans for the position of Chairperson of the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission in the print media and Commission’s website on 20th January, 2023. The advert closed on 2nd February, 2023 and attracted eighty nine (89) applications. The list of all the applicants is accessible on the Commission’s website: www.publicservice.go.ke The Commission has concluded the shortlisting exercise where the following candidates were shortlisted,” the notice read.

Other shortlisted candidates include Benjamin Adam Mure Mweri, Abdihafid Abdullahi Yarow, Amani Yuda Komora, Kaberia Isaac Kubai, Eliud Wanjao NgigeM Kirinyaga and Thomas Letangule who will be interviewed on Monday, the same day Kibwana will be interviewed.

The second lot that will be interviewed on Tuesday, the same day as Oginde and Kanjama include Susan Nekesa Ngera, Josiah B. Onyancha, Norah Chepkemoi Mutai, Kenneth Sakwa Buliba and Justa Wawira Mwangi.

The interviews will take place at the Public Service Commission in Nairobi and the commission has invited members of the public to provide any information of interest regarding the shortlisted candidates.

“Members of the public are invited to avail any credible information of interest relating to any of the shortlisted candidates (through sworn affidavits) to the Secretary/CEO, Public Service Commission, 4th floor Commission House, Harambe Avenue, Nairobi or online through [email protected] so as to be received on or before 24th February, 2023,” PSC said.
