The national government is seeking to have the Huduma Namba to replace the Kenya Revenue Authority Personal Identification Number (PIN) under the Huduma Namba Bill, 2021.

Huduma Bill 2021 implies that the Tax Procedure Act should make the biometric ID the key number for easy identification of taxpayers.

This means that once someone attains the age of 18 years, they will be required to file returns annually irrespective of their income status.

Through this new mode, the state will be seeking to take action on those individuals who have been evading to pay taxes by requiring them to have Huduma Namba which will serve as the new KRA Pin.

If the bill goes through, then KRA will be required to activate tax obligation of every citizen above the age of 18 years who is not registered as a taxpayer.
