An accident occurred at the Total petrol station along Magadi Road, causing a traffic snarl-up.

The accident has involved a black Toyota Vanguard and a boda boda.

Apparently, the driver of the vehicle was a mechanic and was headed towards Ongata Rongai town from the direction of Kiserian before he turned into the petrol station.

He said he was getting into the petrol station when he had a bang in the rear left of the car before screeching to a standstill.

The boda boda rider on his account said he was heading towards Kiserian when the car spun into the petrol station.

A witness to the incident said the boda boda rider was indeed speeding. However, the car did not yield at the entrance, forcing the boda boda rider to apply emergency brakes that sent him screeching a few meters before hitting the car.

The boda boda rider sustained an injury on his left leg and his motorbike was damaged. Part of the vehicle's bumper has also been damaged.

The two waited for traffic police to resolve the matter, as both were adamant that they were not on the wrong.

A traffic police officer who came to the scene of the accident assessed the accident and asked the persons involved to agree on a settlement.
