The Law Society of Kenya (LSK) has urged the office of the Director of Criminal Investigation (DCI) to accelerate the probe into the killing of lawyer Boaz Nyakeri who was stabbed to death in Ongata Rongai, Kajiado County.

Reports indicate that the late was on his way home when the unknown people attacked him, near Masai Lodge.

Nyakeri was stabbed in the neck while his cousin who was with him when the incident occurred suffered severe stab wounds on his arm.

The incident is said to have happened at 5 am.

LSK now wants the national government to provide security for all Court officials and protect them from threats, intimidation, and harm.

'' The responsibility vested on advocates as court officials and human rights defenders places them at high risk of possible attacks, it is in this regard that we urge the national government to put in place proper measures to ensure that advocates, magistrate, judges, and all court officials are provided with security,'' read the statement from LSK Secretary Mercy Wambua.

Nyakeri was rushed to Sinai Hospital before he was then transferred to Kenyatta National Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

The incident is said to have happened on Saturday when the late with his cousin were on their way home.
