The embattled Football Kenya Federation (FKF) President Nick Mwendwa has re-arrested on Friday.

Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) officers Mwendwa was arrested along Kiambu Road while he was on his way to his private office in the CBD.

His arrest comes just a day after the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) closed his graft case even after the court had granted seven days to prefer charges against Mwendwa.

After he was arrested, Mwendwa was taken to the DCI headquarters where he was questioned over the alleged misappropriation of funds and corruption claims at FKF.

Initially, Mwendwa was arrested on November 12 after CS sports Amb. Amina Mohamed disbanded FKF, sent its officials packing and appointed a 15 member committee to run the affairs of FKF.

He spent the weekend at Gigiri Police Station and appeared in court on November 15.

Mwendwa was released on a Sh7 million bond with two sureties or a cash bail of Sh4 million.
