Former Nairobi governor Mike Sonko has come out to discount claims by Merry Nkatha linking him to abduction and forceful confessions in his “Sonko Leaks”.
In a post on his Facebook page, Sonko denied Nkatha’s allegations that she provided damning information on some judges and advocates under duress.
The impeached governor instead claimed she had been feeding him with accurate and damning information on a number of public officials for the past 10 months.
“… the said Nkatha claims she gave the information to me under duress, noting that the same are vide telecon conversations. What she doesn't know is we been getting this info from her for the last 10months,” posted Sonko.
He said he did not wish to involve her anymore in providing him with information relating to his impeachment case that flopped in the corridors of justice last week.

Sonko instead asked the state to provide Nkatha with security following alleged threats she received after the airing of the fifth part of his exposé; Rot in Judiciary.
“At the moment, I do not wish to involve her any further in regards to providing information that is linked to any and all of these cases that have been floated by virtue of audio and video evidence; and it is my sincere wish that The State assures her of security based on the alleged threats she has received following the airing of Episode 5 on the rot in Judiciary,” he added.
He said action had since been taken due to the ‘credible information’ Nkatha provided him with during their series of interactions in the past few months.
Sonko also revealed that he had a total of 149 video and audio recordings from their communication that culminated in the damning evidence he presented.
“Due to the credible information Nkatha provided me during our series of interactions in the past few months, a series that includes 149 clips (both audio and video) that captured our frequent and informative conversations since January 2021, due diligence on issues she brought to light has been undertaken,” Sonko said.
Sonko alleges that his impeachment case was bungled in the courts court and is hell-bent on going down with every person who he believes has crossed his path.
He insists his move is only aimed at clearing his name and that Nkatha provided the information to him voluntarily.
“With all due respect, I’m obliged to release this clip to the public to exonerate myself and to prove that Nkatha was willingly involved and volunteered all the information I have aired so far…” he wrote.
He went on to post a video in which he is talking to her on phone as he secretly records her and their discussion moves from serious talk on his ouster then slides a sexual nature.
"She has, however, made a public statement implying she was held at gunpoint and given commands on how to respond to the alleged kidnappers regarding our conversations.
"Based on the following proof in a recent video call with her, it is evident that her claims are null and void".
