Three suspected terrorists managed to escape from the Kamiti Maximum Prison on Monday morning.

The three; Musharaf Abdala Khulunga alias Zarkawi alias Alex alias Shukri, Mohamed Ali Abikar and Joseph Juma Odhiambo alias Yusuf were arrested on various days for various terror related activities.

Odhiambo was arrested on November 21, 2019, in Bulla Hawa, Somalia while attempting to enlist with the Al Shabaab terror group.

Musharaf was arrested on September 30, 2012, over his participation in a foiled attempt to conduct a terrorist attack targeting Parliament Buildings. He was charged with possession of explosives, ammunition and firearms.

Abikar was arrested following his involvement with the Garissa University attack that occurred on April 2, 2015.

Sh60 million shillings reward is up for grabs for any member of the public who has any information that may lead to the arrest of the three who disappeared from the correctional facility at 1 am.

The National Police Service has cautioned members of the public that the three suspects are dangerous and have appealed for any information regarding their whereabouts.
