One person has lost his life while two others were injured in a road accident involving a Toyota Noah and two trucks on the Eldoret-Malaba Highway.

Confirming the incident, Matete Sub-County Commander Thomas Ototo said the driver of the truck died while the other two drivers and the Turn boy of the sand-transporting were rushed to Webuye County Hospital.

“The truck burst into flames after veering off the road killing the driver on the spot. However, the Noah driver had some injuries on the head,” Ototo said.

Police have said that one of the trucks lost control of its breaks at the River Nzoia bridge, hit Toyota Noah which as a result, run off the road, the truck then hit a sand-transporting truck before it went off-road as well.

The three vehicles involved in an accident were heading in the same direction, Webuye from Eldoret.

Elsewhere, the truck has rammed into a personal vehicle at Kaburengu Junction about 6km to Webuye.

Several people feared dead.
