A comprehensive report from a doctor says 50 students of Ofafa Jericho high school have been admitted due to carbon monoxide poisoning following a fire at the school.

15 others have been treated and discharged from the Metropolitan hospital, which received 35 of them.

Some students have been moved to MP Shah, Nairobi Women’s hospital and Avenue hospital

Most of the students had inhaled smoke, which caused breathing complications.

Elsewhere, a huge fire has razed down one dormitory in Sigalame High School Funyula, Busia County.

A report emanating from Busia says that students using the dormitory escaped unhurt as no one was inside the dormitory at the time of the incident.

The fire has since been contained.

In the last two months, the school has been burnt four times allegedly by the community, because of a bad relationship with the school principal.

The Principal is now accusing parents and the neighbouring community of being behind fires at the school.
