Bishop David Muriithi says child with woman who sued him does not need Wi-Fi, DSTV

Bishop David Muriithi of House of Grace has reacted to the petition against him by Judy Mutave, the woman with whom he allegedly sired a child and is seeking child support.

The bishop disputed some of the demands the woman had made.

Among the things Muriithi declined to pay for include Wi-Fi and DSTV subscription.

Muriithi argued that the 2-year-old neither requires Wi-Fi nor DSTV therefore, the applicant could not demand that he pays for the utilities.

The bishop also turned down Judy’s demand for Sh5000 for electricity, Sh3000 for gas, and Sh3000 for water.

Muriithi supported his stand, claiming the woman used to pay those bills on her own even before the child arrived.

The bishop asserted that the woman has a flourishing business, therefore rendering her capable of footing the basic bills and take care of their child.

Muriithi pointed out that Judy has a comfortable home where she lives together with her teenage son and their son, so she really does not need the Sh35,000 for accommodation.

The man of God said his responsibility as a reasonable parent was limited to provide for the minor’s school fees and pay Sh10,000 for monthly subsistence.

He argued that since he is unemployed and only depends on donations from well-wishers, he could not afford to pay the amount the woman has sued him for.
