Self-confessed serial killer Philip Onyancha has been acquitted of the 2008 murder of Jacqueline Chapng’etich Misoi.
His acquittal came after the court ruled that a proper investigation was not conducted by the police in the controversial and widely covered case.
Justice Jessie Lessit was the trial judge of the case that made the ruling.
Onyancha was accused of murdering Jacqueline Chepng’etich Misoi on May 30, 2008 and Catherine Chelang’at on November 22, 2008.
Chelang’at was murdered in Karen while Chepng’etich was murdered at the Mount Kenya building along Kombo-Munyiri Road in Nairobi.

However, Onyancha is still not such a free man as he still has other cases pending in court.
Onyancha once confessed to murdering 19 women and children but later on denied 3 murder charges levelled against him.
Together with two other co-accused; Douglas Obiero Makori and Tobias Nyabuhanga Aradi, he denied murdering 14-year old Antony Njirwa Muiruri on April 14, 2014 in Ngado, Nairobi.
He has also denied several charges against him even after confessing before police and journalists that he was responsible for the said murders.
