The honeymoon is seemingly over for Law Society of Kenya president Nelson Havi after nine out of 13 council members voted to reinstate CEO Mercy Wambua after he controversially kicked her out.

The LSK Council also condemned Havi's attempt to reverse its decision to reinstate the CEO and the council appealed to the Senior Counsel Bar to advise the society president accordingly.

Wambua was officially suspended as the Society’s secretary and in September for failing to respond to queries over the conduct of some staff in performing their duties.

The suspension was based on Section 26(6) of the Law Society Act that states that the secretary may be removed from office by the council with support of at least two thirds of the members.
