A man has been admitted at the Mwingi Level 4 Hospital in Kitui County after he was caught up in a fierce fight between a snake and an eagle.

The cobra then attacked and bit the man, who was driving a vehicle belonging to the county government at the time, in an inexplicable incident that left residents disconcerted.

Residents say the vicious snake had been grabbed by the eagle and was fighting for its life before it slipped and fell from the sky landing onto the moving vehicle and slithered inside.

According to the county government driver, the badly injured snake then bit him on his left hand as he fumbled to halt the car vehicle in order to escape its poisonous fangs.

As onlookers rushed to the scene to rescue the besieged man with the intention of killing the snake, the eagle returned, grabbed its prey and flew away leaving them bedazzled.

The man, who was bit by the snake and is lucky to be alive, is recovering at the Mwingi Level 4 Hospital as he comes to terms what really transpired.
