A court in Kiambu County has ordered the detention of Lang’ata Women’s Prison senior warden Grace Nyamohanga alias Nasra for two weeks after she was arraigned on Tuesday.

The court directed that the suspect, who has been linked by police to a Sh200 million fake jobs syndicate, be detained in cells to allow police to complete their investigation.

Nyamohanga was arraigned a day after she surrendered to the Serious Crime Unit officers at the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) headquarters in Nairobi Sunday afternoon.

DCI detectives had been seeking ‘Nasra’ over allegations of operating a syndicate that had allegedly swindled unsuspecting Kenyans of their hard-earned cash on fake job offers.

Police said desperate and unsuspecting job seekers across the country had lost more than Sh200 million to the intricate employment syndicate in the past 10 months alone.
