A woman has made a passionate appeal on Kenyans through Twitter to help her family settle her sister’s Sh2.8 million hospital bill after being involved in a road accident.

In a series of tweets, the woman going by the name Nyokafi Macharia narrated how her sister, Sharon Ruguru Macharia, was left in a bad shape after hitting a bump on the Red Hill Link Road in Nairobi Saturday.

“Hey friends, my sister got into an accident last week on Saturday along Red Hill road after hitting the newly erected bumps which have no sign & have been placed on a slope. So many people have complained about this! (Can someone fix this?),” Nyokafi posed.

Nyokafi revealed that Sharon had suffered some severe injuries in her brain and was immediately admitted to Aga Khan University Hospital in Nairobi, where she is currently recuperating.

“She's suffered some severe brain injuries (specifically the frontal lobe) which is the part of your brain that deals with your personality/likes & dislikes etc. She's currently receiving treatment at Aga Khan & we're really pleased with the progress she's making,” she went on.

She however indicated that her sister was making good progressbut appealed for help to settle the medical bill that has surpassed Sh2.8 million and grows at Sh380,000 each day.

“Despite her insurance cover, the bill overwhelmingly high. As of today morning (5th Oct), we're at Ksh 2.8M & it's fast rising as she's spending an average of Ksh 380,000 a day. This is a huge stretch for our family & that's why we're calling out to you to help us,” she noted.

She provided the contribution details and a Go Fund Me link for those willing to help.
