Paul Koinange, the Member of Parliament (MP) for Kiambaa constituency in Kiambu County, is dead.

Koinange passed on while receiving treatment for what the family says are Covid-19 related complications at the Nairobi Hospital on Wednesday morning.

The MP, who was elected the Kiambaa MP on a Jubilee Party ticket in the August 2017 General Election, had been in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) for a number of weeks fighting for his life after contracting the deadly virus.

He also served as the Chairperson in the Departmental Committee on Administration and National Security.

President Uhuru Kenyatta has Mourned the late Kiamba MP as one of the leaders who were dependable and steadfast.

Uhuru described Koinange as gentleman whose undivided focus was the peace, stability and progress of our country.

The Head of State sent his condolences and prayers to Koinange's family, relatives and Kiambaa Constituency residents.
