Fallen Tanzania President John Joseph Pombe Magufuli will be laid to rest next week on Thursday, it has been announced.

This was announced on Friday by newly sworn in President Samia Suluhu Hassan, immediately after she was sworn in to take over power from the fallen Head of State.

According to Suluhu, Magufuli will be buried in Chato district, with the burial day declared a national holiday by the new Head of State.

Suluhu on Wednesday night, as Vice President, announced that President Magufuli had passed on at 6pm from heart complications amid wide speculations that he had succumbed to Covid-19.
