A postmortem examination conducted on the body of National Land Commission (NLC) Interim Director of Communications Jennifer Itumbi Wambua has revealed that she was strangled to death.

This was revealed on Thursday by her family lawyer Daniel Maanzo, the Makueni MP, who said the postmortem results were revealed to them by Chief Government Pathologist Dr Johansen Oduor.

Maanzo tod the media that Dr Oduor had indicated to the family that Wambua had been strangled to death using bare hands.

Dr Oduor had on Thursday led pathologists and Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) officers in conducting the autopsy at Montezuma Monalisa Funeral Home in Nairobi.

The body of the NLC director, a former journalist based in Machakos, was discovered by herdsmen at a bush in Embul-bul area of Ngong Forest in Kajiado County on Saturday.

Wambua was last seen on Friday as she hurriedly left her office at Ardhi House in Nairobi at about 10am and did not return home before her kin identified her body at City Mortuary in Nairobi.

The Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Noordin Haji has ordered a speedy investigations into the gruesome murder and the inquiry report to be forwarded to his office for further action.
