A court in Kibera, Nairobi has permitted police the permission to detain two suspects linked to the kidnapping and murder of city businesswoman Carolyne Wanjiku Maina.

The two suspects, Wanjikus’ former boyfriend Edwin Otieno and Samuel Okoth, will be held in cells as police conclude their investigation into the murder last week that shocked the country.

Th Kibera Law Court however released the remaining two suspects, Stephen Oduor and Mercy Gitiri, on police bond as the case against the four is scheduled to be mentioned on March 8.

This comes two days after a post-mortem revealed that Wanjiku had succumbed to injuries she sustained from blunt force trauma exacted on her forehead and back by her said abductors.

The former employee of Co-operative Bank, Embu branch was reportedly abducted after being enticed by a gang of four that she would be aided to boost her Stima Sacco shares.

He vehicle was found dumped in Kawangware, Nairobi the next day before her partly decomposed body was discovered dumped in a bush in Paranai, Kajiado County on February 15.

Wanjiku was laid to rest on Friday at her rural home in Murang'a County.
